Whether burial or cremation is chosen, the typical funeral service includes:

• Visitation or Wake—A time before the funeral for people to pay their respects, say goodbye and share condolences with family members. The casket may be open for viewing or closed. Alternately, an urn may be present.
• Funeral Service—Held at a church or here at Draucker Funeral Home and officiated by a clergy person or a funeral director, this provides a ceremony to say farewell. Readings, music, slideshows, and memories may be shared.
• Burial—Families may opt for a private or group graveside service.

Another option for creating a celebration of life is a memorial service. This offers the opportunity to share memories in a format of your choosing. A memorial service may take place along with burial or cremation, or the service may be scheduled for a later date following burial and cremation—it’s up to the family.

With any service at Draucker Funeral Home, we guide you in gathering the important details, such as biographical information for a death certificate and a list of survivors for an accurate obituary. Other items we assist with include life insurance policies, veteran status, and Social Security. We take care of these necessary administrative tasks.

Live streaming of the service allows those living far from Ogallala to experience the celebration of life as it occurs. For many years, Draucker Funeral Home has offered this option, as it is especially helpful for deployed military and distant or elderly relatives. The event can also be recorded for family to watch again.
